How good are samsung phones?

I am looking at upgrading phones. Wanting a t-Mobile android phone, the nexus one and Samsung Galaxy s have similar stats. If i am going to upgrade, i want the best t-mobile has at the time. I know HTC makes really good phones, but not sure how good Samsungs are. My GF has an eternity and it is crap. So, what kind of experiences has everyone had with Samsungs?

I’ve been researching a bit. I keep running across bad reviews and bad problems with Samsung.

Whenever I was in Cell Phone stores people were all over the HTC.

There’s as many good Samsung as there are bad LG. But the complaints about LG are from people that had one things better on a different LG but less features on that LG so even that’s not a balance there. Or maybe it is.
